Urgent Overhaul of Parque Botánico Water Purification System

Dear Parque Botánico Community,

We would like to inform you about the critical situation we are facing with our water purification plant, which is responsible for recycling wastewater for the irrigation of our beautiful gardens.

If you have seen the attached images, you will have noticed that the installation is in very poor condition. Neglect over many years has led to the metal pipes losing almost 50% of their thickness due to corrosion. It is clear that this wear and tear is not something that happened in the last year, but the result of years of neglect and lack of preventive maintenance.

The situation is such that if this installation fails, we will be left without water for irrigation. In addition, the current filtering system is leaking, so it also needs to be replaced. Undoubtedly, this is something that we must address in the very near future.

The good news is that we have already begun to renew the installation. The pumps and pipes are being replaced, and a new transparent pipe has been installed that will allow us to regularly check the clarity of the water. We have also replaced the well gates, not with expensive custom-made parts, but with grids that we have cut ourselves.

It is also important to mention that all this work is being done by our own maintenance team. Despite the challenges, this team is doing a fantastic job. The new pump has already been installed, although, as expected, it leaks because it now delivers 6 bars of pressure compared to the 2 bars of the previous system.

Finally, we want to assure you that despite the current problems, we are working hard to ensure that we can continue to enjoy an irrigation system that uses recycled water. And we cannot forget our dedicated maintenance team who, with their effort and dedication, is helping us achieve this goal.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this renovation process. We will continue to inform you about the progress of this important project.

Sincerely,

The Community.
